The Practical Mystic: Life-Lessons from Conversations with Mrs. Booth ReviewThe back of the book says "For the serious student on the spiritual path, this book contains keys that can unlock many doors", and I'd agree with that wholeheartedly - both in the sense that it is written with students of a spiritual path in mind (ie. probably not best for complete beginners to spirituality), and that it contains such golden nuggets of teaching through the fascinating anecdotes that Annice ("Mrs Booth") shares from her experiences with her spiritual teachers, Mark Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet, and also through the commentary and contextual information that Neroli has added.I'm guessing you'll get the most out of this book if, like me, you've already had some exposure to the teachings of the ascended masters or read a book by Elizabeth Clare Prophet, but I certainly wouldn't discourage you from checking it out if you feel drawn to do so regardless of your spiritual background as I think there's a lot of stuff in here that can be accessed on many different levels and much of it is, as the title suggests, very practical and usable teaching told through the many little real-life stories from Annice's experiences as a spiritual student.
I also recommend Memories of Mark: My Life with Mark Prophet written by Annice Booth herself. It also has many very interesting anecdotal stories (most of which are different from the ones in The Practical Mystic) with a focus on Mark Prophet as spiritual teacher, while The Practical Mystic focuses more on learning from the position of spiritual student. They certainly work well together in tandem, in my opinion, and compared to many spiritual books they're relatively "easy reading" (the only kind I can really get into!)
If you're new to spirituality or the teachings of the ascended masters, I recommend having a look at The Art of Practical Spirituality: How to Bring More Passion, Creativity and Balance into Everyday Life (Pocket Guide to Practical Spirituality) or The Story of Your Soul: Recovering the Pearl of Your True Identity - Practical Spirituality Series. If you feel you're ready for a little deeper teaching on a very practical level then The Practical Mystic is most likely your cup of tea and I highly recommend you give it a try. I'm getting so much out of it on the first reading and already looking forward to reading it again.
The Practical Mystic: Life-Lessons from Conversations with Mrs. Booth OverviewA great sage once said, "Little keys unlock the biggest doors." For the serious student on the spiritual path, this book contains keys that can unlock many doors. They are drawn from episodes in the life of Annice Booth, who for more than forty years has been a student of Mark Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet.Annice is a true mystic. She occasionally had transcendent spiritual experiences, and she was sometimes more in the etheric plane than the physical. Yet she knew that this was a lifetime to be in the world, and to work. Her stories-sometimes funny, often surprising-illustrate some unexpected truths about the spiritual path. They show the tests and initiations that come to anyone who would pursue higher consciousness.
