The Six Sigma Journey from Art to Science ReviewThe author took a similar approach to this book as did Eliyahu M. Goldratt in "The Goal". This is a novel about a production plant, suffering many or all of the problems very common in industry in varying degrees. I was expecting more of a treatise on 6-sigma, and the managmeent thereof, but then I didn't investigate the book that well.
If you are looking for an introduction to 6-sigma, how to develop an implementation plan, and see how it can play out, this is a good read, just as The Goal is good in what it does.
The book is a good read, effective for what the author intended, but if you are experienced or knowledgeable, who may want to pass. Because thebook is primarily motivational rather than technical, the readers willget a much better understanding of why Six Sigma is successful, butwill also come away with an understanding of all the tools and howthey apply to business. This is an ideal book for any company lookingto get started in Six Sigma, or for those experienced in Six Sigmahoping to better educate employees on Six Sigma.
