Letters Home: Vietnam 1968-1969 ReviewThis book captures what it was like to be a young man on a journey that on the one hand was intriguing and frightening. I can imagine the author as he makes this journey into the unknown. I found myself feeling like I was part of the family he so vividly portrays. He shows how even little things that are taken for granted in the real world can mean so much when far away from home. Just keeping up with football games was hard. It was not like today in the age of Facebook and Twitter. The author did a good job in telling what it was like for a regular guy to be in the Army at that time. The waiting, the boring chores, and the utter insanity of some of the Army's decision making were well displayed here.
