The Complete Idiot's Guide to Fatherhood ReviewI had purchased this book for my husband to assist him in his new role as step-father to my eleven-year-old. Of course, I read the book first to ensure that the book provided solid advice. The book provides basic and a few creative tips for the expectant or new father and may help give them peace-of-mind. I was disappointed that the author did not cover the topic of step-fatherhood and that the book concentrated on parenting the infant and toddler years. At the tail end of the book, the author barely touches upon the school-age, pre-teen and teenage years. When added together, less than 1/4 of the book covers parenting these age groups. The advice provided for fathers of older children was little more than basic common sense. I decided not to give this book to my husband and instead will give it to his brother who's wife will be delivering their first child in November.
