Marketing to the Hispanic Community: A Comprehensive Guide for Tax Preparation Offices/Staff Training Guide, 2 Volume Set ReviewI would love to review this book. Unfortunately, after purchasing the book from Ms. Borthayre, I never received the book (as of March 6, 2009). I spoke with Ms. Borthayre once by telephone and she was rude and condescending. She promised to send the book, but she never did keep her word.
We have emailed and telephoned Ms. Borthayre multiple times in an attempt to resolve the situation, but we finally had to file a claim with PayPal after she claimed that she had already submitted a refund (a blatantly false claim). I felt it was at least important for PayPal to know the character of their merchant.
Upon my filing a claim with PayPal, Ms. Borthayre completely lost it. Ms. Borthayre threatened me that she would contact local Hispanic leaders, and she would encourage them to avoid our tax business. Then, she bragged about her 100% stellar reputation with major tax preparation companies, PayPal, Amazon and eBay. In 3 subsequent emails, she reiterated her intent to malign our business in our local community, and ultimately notified me that she had already started contacting local Hispanic organizations. In one of her emails, she called me a "financial loser" and in others she said I was in need of mental health treatment. I will simply ask what kind of a person reacts like this?

I'm still shaking from Ms. Borthayre's venomous temper and her blatant dishonesty. I didn't need all this harassment over her failing to fulfill an order for a book, but I do feel it is important that others know of her character. If anyone wants a copy of her emails to me, I am happy to forward copies of my correspondence with the author. All I can say is caveat emptor (buyer beware) with purchasing this book. By the way, Ms. Borthayre knows who I am, and I am perfectly willing to remove this review if she simply apologizes for her behavior and attempts to make amends. I am easy to forgive.
