Strategy and Tactics Infantry Warfare ReviewThis book is subtitled "The Theory and Practice of Infantry Combat in the 20th Century" but this is not what the book is about at all. It is a reasonably well done, glossy history, cliff notes review of conflicts with little or no insight into infantry tactics, who developed them, or how they evolved. For casual readers looking for a historical overview, this will be adequate, but I expect it will be a huge disappointment to anyone who is interested in a book with this title. To give a few examples: there are no details on what infiltration tactics really are, never mind how they were developed; there is no discussion whatsoever of airmobile or paratroop tactics, and the evolution of infantry weapons is ignored except for some "gee whiz" comments on current developments at the end.
