Mosby's Pharmacy Technician: Principles and Practice ReviewThis is one of the better books available to give you a good general feel for all the different aspects of the pharmacy technician's job responsibilities. There are a lot of color pictures and examples which are lacking in many other books. The book gives a general description of the different positions a pharmacy technician may hold such as duties in a hospital setting or in a retail setting, special duties such as preparing chemotherapy drugs, IV drugs and compounding, and also includes chapters on the different body systems and drugs that treat diseases in each system. A CD comes with the book that has animations of the body systems and problems to work on to help prepare for the certification exam. The appendix includes a list of 200 of the more popular drugs and a math review. There is also a practice exam at the end. This is a good all inclusive book if you only want to buy one book that covers a little of everything instead of buying all the books in a series.
