In the Ballpark: The Working Lives of Baseball People ReviewThe fact that the subject is baseball is beside the point. The authors have shown skill, humour, and insight in their ability to identify and highlight all the areas that go into making the game what it is. Some of the people are likable, some you even feel sorry for, but the tact, taste, and even the occasional lack of objectivity serve to make this an enjoyable read. (Coming from a family with many anthropoligists, I can say I've never read anything as fun to read as this.)In the Ballpark: The Working Lives of Baseball People Overview

The Dog Ate My Resume: Survival Tips for Life After College ReviewThe Dog Ate My Resumé is hilarious spoof on life after college. The book sarcastically answers questions and provides satirical tips on majors, graduation, career options, job interviews, graduate school, and living arrangements. The book contains such chapters as Winning Interview Techniques: Developing a Go-Getter Attitude, or at Least Faking One and Navigating and Guiding Your Family Discussions About What You Will Do After College, Including Good Answers to the Big Question- Truthful and Otherwise. All of these chapters are witty. A few of these chapters even provide useful tips, between the lines and beyond the sarcasm.
The Dog Ate my Resumé is aimed at new college graduates and their parents. No doubt those who are still in college and those who have gone through the process will think this book is extremely funny, the former not fully understanding the hidden truths in this book and the latter having survived the out of school crisis. It is important to emphasize that this book is a spoof, meant to lighten the heaviness of graduating, finding yourself, and getting a real job.
The Dog Ate My Resume: Survival Tips for Life After College OverviewCelebrating a rite of passage for many into adult life, this hilarious book offers tongue-in-cheek observations on making life choices for recent college graduates, their friends and families, and anyone who faces the bewildering question What do I want to do with my life? The father-son writing team offers comical commentary and surprisingly realistic advice on getting a job, choosing a career path, making decisions about living at home or in an apartment, and, above all, crafting an impressive personal update for the alumni magazine. Suggestions address common transitional challenges such as faking a go-getter attitude and determining who will really give a good letter of recommendation.

How to Succeed in Your First Job: Tips for College Graduates ReviewIts a simply written book, very concise and without any hype. I bought it because I felt I am not really able to gauge what is expected of me in the job and just 2 weeks into my dream job I started complaining.
I wish I had read this book before starting. Or even better, before I went for job interviews!! After reading this book I realised what mistakes I made during some of my job interviews.
This is the first review I have ever written for any book. How to Succeed in Your First Job: Tips for College Graduates OverviewThere is little emphasis, even in college business courses, on the crucial process of adjusting to modern corporate culture. This brief, handy book provides a crash course on the inner workings of organizations and the most effective ways for a new employee to earn acceptance and respect.
